Data protection at TypePro
This summary explains what TypePro collects while you use the product (including the browser extension), why, and the controls you have. See also the full Privacy Policy.
What we process
- Account data — your email and name, handled by our authentication provider (Clerk).
- Writing context — to suggest completions, the extension sends text around the caret to
api.typepro.co.uk. You can pause TypePro or block sites in the extension popup. - Your knowledge base — documents you upload, used only to improve your own suggestions.
- Your CV — a PDF or Word file you upload on its own, stored for your account and used only when you press Fill from your CV. It is deleted when you remove it or close your account.
- Usage / telemetry — shown, accepted, dismissed, or ignored events; optional short accepted-text snippets (redacted) for personalisation and product quality.
- Website visits — the page opened on typepro.co.uk, the country, and whether the visit looks like a known crawler. The IP address is not kept. Time on the page is recorded only if you accept analytics cookies.
What we don't do
- We don't capture on sensitive sites (password managers, banking, healthcare) unless you explicitly opt in per-site.
- We exclude password and other sensitive fields, and redact obvious secrets before anything leaves your browser.
- Our AI provider does not train on data sent through their API.
Your controls
- Pause TypePro globally or per-site at any time.
- Export or delete your data, including your knowledge base and your CV.
- Withdraw page-context consent whenever you like.
Data is hosted in the EU. Identity is handled by Clerk under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
